Author’s Note: I struggled writing this essay because this book was so detailed that I didn’t want to leave anything out. Make sure you pay close attentions to why it is adventurous and about family love.
The week before Christmas, when the decorations are out, the days are always silent and when the night comes about, there’s always a shout. Lights are flashing and the ornaments are swaying; the tree is tipping every night that comes. Secrets of the Christmas Box, by Steven Hornby, is an adventurous novel of finding lost ones that are loved.
If you came home one day and some of your family members were gone. How would that make you feel? I would be worried, terrified and I would not know what to do. That is what I think Larry felt like when his brother wasn’t on the tree. What Larry did was he got help from his friends Debbie and Splint and they made a plan that they were going to leave the tree and search around the house. I would be scared because they have never been off the tree before they don’t know what will happen or were they are going to go or run into.
As they have left the tree there adventure starts they run into a cat and they are trying to not let the cat see them. If I was in Larry's position I would want protect my friends and make a plan so we could sneak away from the cat so we don’t get noticed. It is very scary in the unknown world, the next obstacle Larry and his friends run into is that they have to go down the outdoor steps to get to the garage. The steps are like mountains because of there small size. His friends are trying to convince him to stop looking. I could image how Larry feels because it’s his lost loved one that he is trying to find.I would personally never give up looking for my lost loved one no matter how many obstacle I would have to go through.
One of the most adventurous books ever written is certainly Secrets of a Christmas box. This is one of the most loving, adventurous book I have ever read. I hope that I don’t have to go through what Larry has been through of finding a lost loved one.
