The way of life

Author’s note:  This piece I wrote is about the theme of the novel  The Last Song  , by Nicholas Sparks.

Love is the most strongest meaningful word to human. Within The Last Song by Nicolas Sparks he shows that struggles can bring a family apart and they can bring them together. When this family figures out that their family is coming together with love they realize that love can really change a family.

When summer vacation started Ronnie and her brother were going to their dads house in Florida. Ronnie who is 16 wasn’t excited to see her dad.  Her mom and dad got a divorced when Ronnie was little. When Ronnie was a little girl she was mad at her dad for leaving her because she didn’t know what was happening. She is still mad at her dad but the thing she doesn’t know is her dad is very sick and that’s why he want them to come down for summer.

Another example of how this family struggles with love is , When Ronnie was walking around the festival down on the beach where her dad lives. She was looking around and there was boys playing  sand volleyball and little gift shops. Right at the instance she say a smoothie stand and walked over there and got a strawberry smoothie when she walked away a guy playing sand volleyball accidently ran into her. That’s when she knew that she found love.

Meanwhile when her dad is in the hospital Ronnie realizes that she loves her father more than anything. The last couple of days she was hanging out with her dad and she noticed that love is a fragile thing and she can’t push people away like she did with her father. The last day her father died and Ronnie couldn’t of forgave herself the way she acting  to her dad for 9 or even 12 years.  

This theme relates to another movie I saw called "The Blind Side” because  Michael Oher doesn’t have anyone who loves him. Until this family founded Michael walking on the roads with no coat during the winter. It relates because both books or movies start out with no love and then becomes the saddest and loving stories.

My conclusion contains that this theme in The Last Song is that love struggles , but you can’t push people away like your family even though you might be mad. Nicolas Sparks the author has a lot of different novels but this novel truly states how love can be fragile.
