The oldest boy in the family and the bravest was Sam. He was just standing
there with a red coat on trying to decide whether to go fight at war or stay
home. When his dad got home he was going to tell his dad that he was going to
war and then leave but his dad didn’t like that decision. The book My brother
Sam is dead has a lot of similarities with the movie The Patriot.
The main similarity the book and movie had was the oldest
boy wants to go to war and their father doesn’t want him too. The boy had a big
decision to make but he wanted to go to war. When the conversation was almost
over the boy decides to leave for war. The father was ferrous that the boy had
went to war but that night they all wanted the oldest boy to be safe till the
end. /
Another similarity was that with the book and the movie
is that they took place during revolutionary war. Men from the families had to
leave the home and go and fight. The men decided that the best way for them to
fight was to hide in woods and wait for the army to come through then they
would attack them. Whenever they had time the men would return to their
families briefly to make sure everything was okay. The men were winning the
war, so the army decided they were going to go and hunt down their families. As
the war continued the men had to go home to these families more often. They
found that some of their families have been killed. This was a turning point in
the war because the men started to fight without thinking and hiding. So the
men started to lose the war by getting killed. The army was now winning the
war.
The oldest boy acted like he was dead so that the other
side wouldn’t shoot him but the main guy on the other said shot him to make
sure he was dead. It was a sad glomming day for that family and pretty
soon the war has come to the end and oldest boy did a great job fighting
for freedom. The family was very said but new that the boy was happy that he
fought for a long time and that he got his country freedom. The movie The
patriot is very related to the book My brother Sam is dead.
